In this very interactive workshop for library staff and administrators, we will cover the impacts of trauma on behavior, learning and communication; trauma-sensitive relationship and rapport building; working with distressed individuals and conflict; and how to support ourselves and each other to stay healthy, connected and safe. We will use scenarios, small groups and practice activities to build competency and skills in assessing and responding to a variety of escalated situations. Participants are encouraged to bring their questions and concerns as well as stories of working with individuals experiencing crisis or distress, and to explore situations and circumstances they want more skills to handle.

Featured Training: Gender 101 by TransPonder

Wednesday, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m., Meeting Room 3W

Gender 101 is an essential training designed to equip you with foundational knowledge about gender and its related concepts.
