The OLA 2021 Virtual Conference will offer over 100 prizes to attendees. 40 prizes will be awarded to the winners of our daily scavenger hunt. 40 prizes will be awarded to randomly selected attendees at certain scheduled events during the live conference. 25 prizes will be awarded to randomly selected winners from our conference group rate subscribers, who can then decide themselves how they will award prizes from within their organization. Daily Scavenger Hunt FAQs
- The daily scavenger hunt is intended to be a fun casual game that encourages conference attendee engagement with our code of conduct, our Whova conference site and our conference exhibitors and sponsors.
- All prizes are valued at $20.00 or less, with the intention of avoiding ethical conflicts for attendees who may have had their registration paid for by their employers.
- A link to the daily scavenger hunt form will be posted on the OLA Conference Whova Home Page and will go live every morning at 8am. The form will close for submissions at 8pm every night.
- The daily scavenger hunt will ask participants to answer 7 questions. The answers to these questions can all be found by searching within the OLA conference site in Whova. **HINT** We highly suggest you explore our exhibitors’ booths, OLA division & unit booths and the conference code of conduct.
- Only registered conference attendees are eligible for scavenger hunt prizes. We ask that exhibitors, non-registered presenters and guest speakers please do not participate.
- The first 10 correct scavenger hunt entries every day will win a prize.
- Winners will be notified via email by 9pm of each conference day with a link to a form to submit their preferred mailing address and their prize selections.
- Prizes will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis- so the quicker you reply, the better chance you have of claiming your favorite item from the prize list. Winners must submit their prize choice/mailing address form within 48 hours or we will move down the list to the next potential winner.
- YOU MAY ONLY WIN ONE DAILY SCAVENGER HUNT DURING THE 4 DAYS OF THE CONFERENCE. If you have already been a daily scavenger hunt winner and you enter another winning submission, it will be disqualified.
- The questions and the prize selections will be different each day. Since winners will be notified at the end of each conference day, you will know whether or not you are eligible to try to win the scavenger hunt on another day of the conference.
- Prizes will be mailed via USPS to winners within 30 days of the close of the conference.
How Do I Win One of the Random Daily Prizes?
- 10 daily prize winners will be drawn from the attendee lists of 2 different events each day. Only registered conference attendees will be eligible to win.
- You must attend the events live and remain in the session for at least 5 minutes to be eligible to win a prize.
- The conference committee will use a random number generator to choose 5 winners from the list of attendees for these events. Whova provides us with a spreadsheet of attendees and allows us to see how long they remained in a session.
- Only one daily random prize will be awarded to any one attendee.
- The daily events where random prize winners will be chosen are:
- TUESDAY: 8:00-9:00 am Coffee & Conversation and 6:30-8:30 pm OLA Virtual Trivia Night
- WEDNESDAY: 8:30-9:15 am Coffee & Conversation and 7:00-8:00 pm Authors in their Own Words
- THURSDAY: 8:30-9:30 am Breakfast in the Exhibitors’ Hall and 2:45-3:45 pm OLA Annual Business Meeting
- FRIDAY: 8:30-9:30 am Breakfast in the Exhibitors’ Hall and 12:00-1:30 pm OLA Awards Presentation

Group Registration Prizes
- 25 organizations who registered under a group rate (of any size) will be randomly chosen (via random number generator) at the end of the conference (April 23rd).
- These organizations will receive a prize winner email notification with a form to submit for their preferred prize handler and mailing address.
- All prizes are valued at $20.00 or less, with the intention of avoiding ethical conflicts for attendees who may have had their registration paid for by their employers.
- Prizes will be mailed via USPS to winners within 30 days of the close of the conference.
- It is the responsibility of the winning organizations to determine who among their registered attendees will win the conference prize or how it will be distributed.
- Our intention in offering prizes to registered groups is to allow some of our conference attendees who were unable to attend the conference live to also win prizes.
